Martian Conversions. Now with paint on! 30/03/14
« on: 02 March 2014, 03:42:47 PM »
I have been busy converting Sky Martians into Martian Askari in the services of Great Britain and Japan in readiness for our demo game at Salute next month.

For further fluff and information here is the thread to the first Askari I produced for Salute last year:

http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=52471.0

Here are a selection showing Martians adopting Earther fashions and adapting them to their own styles:

The second photo includes a Sky Martian clan leader in hooded robe.

The Sky Martian Prince in his hooded robe which will be painted to resemble gold embroiderey with a red lining. This figure will play a key role in the game.

Wearing an Inverness cape, wide brimmed hat and armed with a Winchester rifle.

Inspired by the Japanese and Chinese railroad workers this Martian wears a Coolie hat.

Pith helmet? Of course, Every Martian knows its the head gear of choice to protect ones head from the twin suns heat.

Top Hat! Every gentleman should have one.

More Pith anyone?

And finally the Fez.

Sorry about the quality of the photos I rather rushed these and it shows ::)

There is a Rickshaw on the workbench at the moment with a Martian driver and Earther passenger. Now to get these painted in time for the game... lol

Nice work Nick. I'm about to get back to finishing the greenstuff work on my Sky Martian priest.

Rickshaw also suitably 'native-ized'?

You poop; haven't used all the stored various 'Martians', going back to some original Barsoomian Battle Manual figs, and you keep adding to the longing.  ::)

Don't suppose any will be (mould) masters before being (battle) slaves? Forgoing that would be a kindness. No way can I tart up the basic models to near same.

Hi Doug,

These are just for the game and for the most part are not suitable for casting.

However James and I are going to do some City Martian types and Askaris after Salute that we will cast up and offer. :)

Oh, that will take FOREVER... *I hope...*

And the rickshaw?

Gaudy as one of those sub-continent jitneys?

Spankingly good work with the green stuff there Mr Malamute. Still think the Martian prince needs some outrageous lace cuffs though.  ;)
