Yes, nice show, and what they didn't have, I bought on the internet.  I do have to ask myself, as someone else said, was it worth a 100 mile round trip?

 My trip was 3 hours and 45 mins long each way  .

 Still a good show and it seemed to be pretty busy.

Was only a 30 minute drive for me.

Picked up a bunch of 6mm GHQ stuff from Magister and a couple of 15mm buildings.

There were more unique sellers this year than there was last year (or even the year before) but usually its the same thing year in/out.

Personally since Elhiem stopped going (amongst others) I've been less interested. Last few times its just been vendors selling of the same stuff. And the vast majority of course can be ordered, though there was a few unique vendors who's sites aren't brilliant/dated and have figures you can only appreciate when you see them in the flesh.

Living in Shropshire this show is very handy for me and if I'm not running a game I'm always there as a punter. I see your point though joroas, that's a fair old trip but hopefully it was worth it for the socialising too.

I wasn't running a game for a change so it was good to wander about and catch up with people. One event put a dark cloud over the day. I took my seven year old daughter with me, she's been showing an increasing interest in the hobby and so I took her to her first show. While chatting to a trader my daughter was physically pushed and pinned to the trader's table by a  *!#@!  wanting to look at one of the display cabinets! Sharp words were had and an apology was given (somewhat reluctantly I might add) but the damage was done, my daughter was visibly upset. Now you and I are used to a bit of elbowing and jostling at some trade stands. It's a given that there are some rude, ignorant people involved in this hobby but this wasn't a trade stand giving away once in a lifetime deals or freebies. Then to put physical pressure on a seven year old kid to the point of making her panic just to look at some figures in a display cabinet is beyond belief. Bloody good job I can hold my temper. Will my daughter go to another show? Nope!!!

Unbelievable! Sorry to hear your daughter was traumatised by such an idiot, hope you can convince her to attend another; my kids had good times at conventions at her age and still recall the games they played even now they are adults.

Right with you on that one Thunderchicken, I'll be honest, there was an over-abundance of rude people at WMMS that it became a bit too noticeable. Granted there are going to be a few bad eggs, but I couldn't help but have the impression there were a few too many bad eggs in a place where we all sort off have the same interest and definitely the same hobby. Had a few occasions where people were going out of their way to get into other peoples way at stands, and was shoved a few occasions, which is totally unnecessary. Dunno why it was getting like that but yeah, was quite a lot of it.

I didn't see any of that, because there is a fair amount of space around the stalls, Newbury, on the other hand, is narrow and long, and it is difficult to avoid jostling, esp the B&B area......
