Evening

Got a chance yesterday to finish of getting the foam core in place for the sea walls. The plan is to place embossed plait card on the front to give them the brick work effect.

I have also put the wallpaper for cobbled street effect onto my two boards that Ouistrehem will be on.

Any feedback as ever would be very welcome.

Cheers

Phil

It all looks smashing, I'm really looking forward to seeeing some paint go on, especially on the J cloths.  It's always fun to turn something household into wargames scenery. :)

Thanks for the words of encouragement. The boards will make up a 10 x 6 table and the scenario is based on the one from RF campaign book though plan on using BGO rules.

The j cloths will soon hopefully be disappearing under the plaster but need to finish fixing all the polystyrene first.

Cheers

Using J cloths, brilliant idea, do you just use PVA on them?

The boards are looking fantastic, as are the buildings etc.

Thanks for that and have painted the PVA onto the j cloths.

A quick update. Last weekend with the assistance of Mark and his hot wire cutter work began on Perries ridge.

Then a stone and sand paper had been taken to it.

Here the middle section has been painted and is awaiting flocking and here it is on it's board that has just had the polystyrene and j cloth mix.

Am hoping to have all the inland boards ready for plastering next Friday, of course plenty of photos to follow when that happens.

Cheers

Evening,

Have had a very productive day.

First of all put the boards out and then finished the polystyrene and j cloths.

Then time to start plastering but if you try this yourself don't make my mistake of mixing up the last of your plaster I'm using finishing plaster by the way with to much water. As this will result in a desperate dash to Wicks to get back before it sets in the bucket!

Ready to go or so I thought

Finally getting some plaster on.

Trying to be careful not to go over the sea wall.

Plastered boards, had hope, to set them all back out again but the threat of rain and my son returning form school put paid to that!

You can probably just make out that I have used a scarper to mark out the roads. The plaster has quite a few cracks in it at this stage and is currently drying in the garage. The cracks will soon bye covered up by poly cell so no need to worry on that front.

All feed back welcome.

Cheers

Good progress there Phil.

The only thing that I'd be concerned about is that dodgy looking baseball cap in the 3rd and 4th pictures!  lol

Hi

The polystyrene tiles are from Homebase albeit a while ago and the pink foam is from Wicks just a few weeks ago.

Couple more shots of the plastered boards, all feedback welcome please.

Cheers

Phil
