Looking for 54mm or larger Green Beret Iraq 2003

Greetings all,

I'm in the market for a 54mm or larger scale miniature of a US Army Special Forces soldier, preferably outfitted for the invasion of Northern Iraq in 2003. A figure WITHOUT a beard is preferable, or one that can be easily modified via a head swap.

It does not need to be an exact match - I'm just hoping to find something very close.

My childhood friend is retiring after 27 years of service, and I wanted to paint up something special for him to commemorate one of his more memorable deployments.

I've seen the models that Evolution Miniatures has to offer, but I am open to any and all suggestions from the masses.

If 54mm translates to about 1/35 scale then i would suggest looking at brands like Tamiya, Verlinden and others that cater for the scale model building fraternity. Most of these come in plastic or resin. And just out of interest. Did your childhood friend serve in the SF? Good luck.

Have a look at Dragon DML. They produce a wide range of Gulf War era figures including SF in 1/35 scale.

There is a range called "NATO in Miniature" that you may find fits the bill.

Take a look at Armies in Plastic.  They offer two sets of US Infantry for Afghanistan/Iraq.  For the price, I'm sure you could convert the head to berets.  armiesinplastic.com

Thank you all for the suggestions so far. The Verlinden models seems to hold a lot of promise, so I'll take a close look at those as I finalize my choices.

And yes, Legion, my friend was with the SF when Task Force Viking went in.

I'd suggest you investigate the following companies -

Live Resin - mostly helmets, weapons, etc, but beautiful products
Evolution
Airborne Miniatures
Verlinden, maybe, but not always top notch or accurate
Legend Productions

Airborne does larger scale models as well
