Has anyone created IHNM stats for a smoothbore cannon ?

I have an idea than involves cannister/grapeshot being fired from an 'antique' weapon

Sounds like a field gun with less range and a lower SV bonus.

Since you have been good, here is a little snippet from the upcoming Sleeping Dragon, Rising Sun:

Cannon, light
A small muzzle-loading artillery piece which takes two crew a full turn to reload after it is fired. If there is only one crewman remains it takes him two uninterrupted turns to reload. The gun fires an exploding shell which attacks all figures in a 3’ radius at +4.
FV+4, Range 36", Pluck -1, Cost 15 points

Now what about a proper smoothbore ? 12pdr, what our US friends might call a 'Napoleon' ?

A museum piece for sure, but just the thing our heros or villains might call on in a last resort - or indeed an ambush !

While we are on it, what about stats for a pom-pom ? 1Pdr (or 2pdr)

A smooth-bore 12 pounder might be a "museum piece" to the "modern" British Army (circa 1898), but was still in pretty wide-spread use among the poorer countries of South America and Asia; smaller smooth bores were still in use in Africa and the Far East, and who knows what defends the city states of Mars !?

A smoothbore cannon firing grape or canister?

Sounds like a larger version of the blunderbuss in the main rules. It should have less range then a rifle, but be more lethal than a blunderbuss, so how about this:

Range 18"
SV Bonus +5
Pluck Modifier -2
Only good for 1 shot per game. If fired into a group, affects all targets equally.

Craig - can you suggest points for such a (single use) weapon?

Firing grape or canister was the last resort of an artillery crew facing an advancing enemy. It is not a one shot weapon, but it is likely that the crew will not get a second shot if they do not deter that advancing enemy.

It is also a completely indiscriminate weapon so I'd suggest getting a Warhammer 40K Flamer Template (you can download copies, you don't have to buy them) and lining it up precisely with the barrel of the cannon. Anyone under the template is attacked at +5/-2 as suggested.

As for the cost of this special ammunition I shall consult the oracle and get back to you.

Indeed, I saw one shoot a helicopter down in Sahara, and they didn't even have a trained crew!!!
