from [wiki]Solomon_Kane[/wiki]

Quote
Solomon Kane is a fictional character created by the pulp-era writer Robert E. Howard. A 17th century Puritan, Solomon Kane is a somber-looking man who wanders the world with no apparent goal other than to vanquish evil in all its forms. His adventures, published mostly in the pulp magazine Weird Tales, often take him from Europe to the jungles of Africa and back.

Howard describes him as a somber and gloomy man of pale face and cold eyes, all of it shadowed by a slouch hat. He is dressed entirely in black and his weaponry consists of a rapier, a dagger, and a couple of flintlock pistols. During one of his latter adventures his friend N'Longa, a black African shaman, gave him a juju staff that served as a protection against evil, but could easily be wielded as an effective weapon. It is revealed in another story, "The Footfalls Within," that this is the mythical Staff of Solomon, a talisman older than the Earth and unimaginably powerful, much more so than even N'Longa knew. In the same adventure with N'Longa, Kane is seen using a musket as well.

" He was ... a strange blending of Puritan and Cavalier, with a touch of the ancient philosopher, and more than a touch of the pagan. ... A hunger in his soul drove him on and on, an urge to right all wrongs, protect all weaker things. ... Wayward and restless as the wind, he was consistent in only one respect-he was true to his ideals of justice and right. Such was Solomon Kane."

I just received the Solomon Kane figure last week, and it is beautiful.  But be aware that it is listed as 31mm.  It dwarfs all the rest of my figures.  Nevertheless, I can't wait to paint it.

Thanks for the feedback, if you need a smaller Soloman Kane style figure in a smaller scale I would recomend Musketeers version a very nice figure and very nice people 8) . Our figures are on the large size but fit in nicley with Black scorpian Reaper, Freebooter and GW, Also Hero's should tower over mere mortals  lol.
The Soloman Kane stories are great and should be on every ardent pulp players bookshelf.

Hi Jo,

Great figures!

I have a question though:

*** Who sculpted the skulls on your skeletal pirates? ***

They strongly remind me of the skeletons sold by Alternative Armies.

Shabbat Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi,

All of the pirate range was sculpted by Martin Baker, unless it states otherwise on a particular models page (there are very few that were not!)

Martin has worked for many companies so that might be why, he has quite a distinctive style of his own!

Just to avoid this becoming any sort of problem or mass speculation (which I am sure was not the intention but has happened many times on many forums after this sort of question :) ) here is a picture of 1 of the original greens:

lol Skeleton original green! lol
Thanks for your interest.

Jo:)
