East Africa WW2 - scenery, minis and tanks (pic heavy)

Here’s some more pics of recent work on my East Africa WW2 project.  First up are some sections of barbed wire, including a Matilda (painted by Scrivs) trying to break through.  (Explosions by Tom Webster-Deakin again.)





Speaking of tanks, I’ve done some anti-tank weapons as well for the Italians, a 20mm Solothurn AT rifle and a 47mm ‘Elefantino’ AT gun (both by Warlord.)

The 47mm gun is a neat little model - I especially like the crew and have based them separately so I can get more use out of them.  The chap with the binoculars makes a fine forward observer.

Ideal for popping a hole in the side of a Vickers Light Tank!  (hopefully)



I was sold some vac-formed shell holes by a friend (made by Pegasus, I think) which I’ve tarted up a bit and repainted in my East African colour scheme.

I’ve also done an Italian fort – its prime function is to go at the top of the mountain as Fort Dologorodoc for our Battle of Keren game (appearing at Salute in April and Partizan in June this year), but I made it flat enough to also be used on level ground as well. 

This is a shot of Fort Dologorodoc at Keren in 1941 after its capture by British forces and was my main inspiration for the model. 
I’ve fiddled around with the dimensions for gaming purposes but hopefully you get the general idea!











The model is in sections and about 5 feet long when it's all out.

And to finish off, a few of the Perry Italians I've been adding to my forces recently. 

There are some super prone/kneeling poses in the range - these ones have been converted to Bersaglieri: I had some spare heads from Warlord so I chopped off the feathers and added them to the Perry sun helmets.
