Highlanders in the 3rd Anglo-Afghan war?

Hi folks,

I like the New empress Jazz age imperialism miniatures a lot, can anyone tell me if the kilts werde plain or tartans, and which Scots Regiments fought there?

Kilts are always in tartan, a khaki apron was worn over it in WWI....

The Gordons famously took part in at least two of the Afghan wars/NWF campaigns.

Like teh man said, a wrap around apron on top of that, light khaki, the colour of.

I find this slightly endearing, as if their mothers back in Aberdeen had sent them to war with kiss and an stern telling not to make a mess of themselves.

Indeed they did and still do.... but in 1919 2/14 London Scottish was disbanded and 1/14 were in the process of disbandment with the last troops in Germany with the army of ocupation. I'd stick with a hint of Gordon tartan. There will be very little to see.

Not Mr Hicks' fine sculpts but I did these for Ignatieff some time ago.

As the figures are based on the chaps in the film "The Drum" and there are Black Watch I guess government tartan would be the order of the day
