My first Adobe building
« on: April 01, 2014, 06:19:33 PM »
I've started preparing for my next Pulp Alley adventure and decided to build some Adobe buildings because

1. they're extremely easy (and fast) to make
2. they're  useful in lots of eras/regions (if you're not too picky about getting every little detail right). I think I can easily use them in old west/mexican setting

Construction wise, Ive followed the standard foamcare/filler method. The buildin pictured is a bit more complex, the other two I've built (but not painted) are the more basic boxes.
I like my games like my orange juice: pulpy with no added sugar or artificial sweeteners

Nice work! Are the interiors usable as playing areas?

No, the interior is unfinished and the roof doesn't lift off.

That's great. We don't do interiors either.  ;)

I was "inspired" by your Adobe building, not to say I just copied the design. Texture is wood filler, another idea I stole got from you.

Looks great!  How did you paint the weathered white color?

I find building them gets quite addictive. Nice work on this one.

I like the layout. A nice idea, having different roof levels.

The wood filler itself is yellowish light brown when dry. After that I drybrush in two steps

First with a linen color, next with an ivory. I use interior paint for this, I have bought some testers in differrent colors, most major brands have them over here.

My attempt at weathering was with Mig Powders.
