Moonraker folk - Wilderlands
« on: 01 April 2014, 07:22:30 PM »
I was wondering if any one has any thoughts of how to represent these in 28mm. I'm thinking of GW LOTR rangers painted in dull reds and blues with some bright scarves for a gypsy look. This is for a SOBH campaign set in Judges Guild territory...

For instance.

"Here's a couple of moonrakers"...

Ahem. Yes, SOBH is song of Blades etc; Moonraker Moors were a location in the classic D&D setting Wilderlands of High Fantasy by Judges Guild. I should have made it clearer...my apologies. They are described as tallish, dark and distrusted by others - so far so Dunedain. There is the small matter of a hint of scales to the skin but that's not too obvious in 28mm....I suspect I'm heading for the LOTR rangers.....

What other models are you using? Cause LOTR is more 28mm Historic scale, while most other miniatures are Heroic scale.
They don't go that well together...

Initially  LOTR or of school citadel for humans though I cracked and have a good few fireforge feudals as well. monsters are otherworld, GW orcs (as goblins) and what have you....

Oh, I remember the Rorystone Road! And those bloody Orcs of the Purple Claw! And never refer to the Overlord as 'Vince'…

Old Citadel rangers would be pretty cool. Keep an eye on Minaiture Heroes here: http://miniature-heroes.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=516_517&zenid=d33fe28282f659f367736a03a75b96c5 I've used Tim's service a lot and it is superb.

Whichever route you take for the Moonrakers, I look forward to seeing them!
