Any company with more real 28mm scale?
« on: April 04, 2014, 09:54:13 PM »
Hello and sorry for my english

I like my 28mm (or 1/56) miniatures of Bolt Action, Wargames Factory and Artizan Designs. They are acceptably right in height but too much bulky
For that reason my 1/56 tanks looks smaller when i put them with my infantry or when i put the crew in transports. I don´t like to spend money buying tanks in 1/50 or 1/48.

Every company that i know make similar miniatures: very big heads, very big hands,...(i know that is a tradition and it´s better to paint, to give them expressions and to scupt, that´s not the question)
Anybody knows a company that make miniatures near 28mm true scale?

Thanks a lot

Also, the metal Bolt Action sculpted by Paul Hicks.

That would be the paras? The ones I have been trying to do as good as yours for three years now?

Wargames Factory stuff looked a bit more realistic than Warlord (what isn't more realistic than Warlord - I find most of their WW2 sculpts atrocious, lol)..but they only make a couple boxes at the moment.

Perry is great, but they also scale a bit small height-wise.

+1 for Wargames Factory if you are looking for proportianate. They are really nice figures, albeit a tad fiddly to put together.

I down't own any so I cannot swear that it is the absolute truth. West wind makes a ww2 line called berlin or bust and their miniatures are supposed to be on the small end of 28 mm, and their vehicles 1/60. So the figures might be more to your liking.

Also WGF are good too IMO.

The Perry 'North Africa WWII' range is specifically aimed at 1/56 veehicles in scale. That's why the models are slighter and smaller than their other ranges.

Beware of tarring all with the same brush. The Warlord/Bolt Action plastics are sculpted by Wotjek and the metals by Paul Hicks. They are very different beasts.

That would be the paras?

Love those babies, yeah. I've also got the Chindits, which are every bit as pleasing, and am hoping to get the Gurkhas some time too.

Offensive miniatures also has 'smaller' sized 28mm. US Airborne, Deutsche Fallschirmjäger, some Italians and some vehicles.

Thank you everybody

Well, i have Wargames Factory germans but they are so tall. Proportions are good but the soldier that is stand up shoting ís taller than warlord germans (and running soldiers are big too). They are good miniatures but not for 1/56 vehicles

Gothic Line, i like your miniatures, they´re not bulky. I saw a pic with size comparisson with Artizan, but is therany pic with Warlord comparisson?
