My first BFaS muscovites: border dragoons
« on: 05 April 2014, 06:15:28 PM »
After five evenings of painting they are ready.
I´m not sure about the historical accuracy of the colors, but they do have a lovely rainbow theme going.
So I hope You like them as much as I.

Fantastic paint job, may I ask why you haven't used the bases that are supplied  with the figures

I use 6mm mdf board for bases. I like the thickness.
The bases are more like playing pieces with the thick board.
Units and sqaudrons are really easy to handle and move across the playing area.

Great job!

I fully agree with this statement. That way they look more "game-ish" :)
But 6mm? I thought my ~4mm (3mm + thick magnetic foil) is a lot. If a man used to it, it looks nice, but now it somehow hurts eyes :P

I did some test pieces with 2-6mm mdf boards.
For me the 6mm board was the one.
I can easily grab the miniature from their bases and move big block of troops with no effort.
