All,
Thinking about re-visiting Darkest Africa gaming.  Can anyone offer a size comparison between the above three figure ranges?  I would expect Copplestone and Foundry to be a good match, but I'm not sure about Northstar.

My collection has figures from all three ranges and they go together with no problems IMHO. My figures are based as individuals so slight variation makes no difference. I also have Empress figures which I would say are slightly smaller, but again nothing to drastic in my eyes.

How would the plastic Wargames Factory Zulus fit? Also the Perry plastic Ansar?  I am looking to do the native tribes inexpensivey if possible.

I have the Ansar and I think they work well alongside the rest of my figures, don't own WF Zulus sorry. I suppose I can type all night but beauty is in the eye of the beholder so to speak and what works for me may not work for you. All I can say Nick is that I don't see any vast difference in size between any of these figures and I'm quite happy to mix them all.

Would I be correct in assuming that two of the mini's are on 3mm bases and two on 2 mm?

Obviously this would slightly distort the size comparison.

Darrell.

The explorer is a Northstar figure, he and the Ngoni warrior are mounted on a 2mm thick base the Ansar and the Foundry musket man are both mounted on UK pennies which are 1.5mm thick.
For me the height difference is no problem, when it comes to mixing figures I'm more concerned with the style of the figures.

Thanks for that. I often find that unless miniatures have a huge difference in hight and bulk that once painted up the relative difference become less obvious anyway.

And I've painted a huge amount of lead in my time  lol
