Spanish for Americans Militia 1812

Hi lads
  What do you think IF i add a few Front rank 28mm spanish guerrilla in with my Old Glory 28mm   1812 yank militia regiments ?

1) would they fit in ok ? managed to get a few militia packs from Knuckleduster at salute and they fit in very well with old glory figs ..

2) Would they look out of place ?After all they are militia troops i  would not be getting the bicorn hats but the rest   

It would just break up the units a bit more and make them a bit more rag tag !

Front rank figures are on the large side and may look over sized next to OG.If you are looking for some militia types can I recommend some of the Texians from my Boot Hill Miniatures range? They should blend on and won't look too out of place, especially the buckskins and tail coats.

Bicornes might not be completely out of place, there's at one least US militia unit equipped with them.
Also some regulars still had leather caps with a bearskin crest (bit like a Tarlton) until 1812. Some regulars were issued 1804 uniforms in 1810 and modified them to the new 1810 regulations themselves.
So if the regulars can look varied, you've got a lot of options for militia.

They do look VERY nice and look like they would fit in with OG and KD figs ,do they have a supplier over the pond in Blitey, that I could get my hands on a few packs ?

North Star carry a few Brigade figures, don't know if they have these, drop Nick a line and ask?

Caliver carry Knuckleduster.

I seem to recall that at least some of the FR Spanish wear sandals.

Another option, Trent/Stratagem (North Star probably the best option) have French in Ireland (1789) figures. Irish rebels are quite a motley crowd, but big figures, so they might look like they've been on steroids next to OG. One or two might be ok as "beefy" recruits. They also have Haiti rebels, which are useful as rebellious slaves (when the British burnt the White House there was a panic in Virginia that it might spark a rebellion).

Dont forget the old Wargames Foundry range of the war of 1812.
They had militia packs but they are 25mm tall.
Check Boot Hill miniatures for some miniatures, they will mix well with some OG figures and also Artizan designs (alamo range).

To your original query: I have several of the Front Rank guerrillas. They don't look like American militia figures, but I do use them for Florida militia as American opponents.

I´ve bought the OG several years ago but i think they are us infantry for the Seminole wars.

They also will suit for the Alamo. Border troops had some of these hats in use.

Yes its the Hog Killer Hat.
The miniatures are of the same period as the Alamo and the Texan War of Independence.
