Question about Warhammer Empire Battle Wizards
« on: 20 April 2014, 11:54:25 AM »
I'm doing a HOTT army with some old Battle Masters figures but I'm going to add a battle wizard. My question is, in the fluff do the colleges of magic have men at arms that would provide personal protection to wizards on the battlefield?

Those HOTT bases can be a bit bare so I was thinking of adding a couple of Men at Arms to the wizard base.

Cheers
Waiter, my soup is giggling.

I'm pretty sure the Van Horstman book mentions them for the light college, how about acolytes or relic bearers instead ? could even put on a familiar too

It's common for wizards in the warhammer fluff world to be shunned by others. Practitioners of magic are just one step away from the influence of chaos, so they are regarded with suspicion and distrust. Having said that, I'm pretty sure that many of them have hired bodyguards to protect them from the mistrusting natives. You can always twist the fluff to suit your models!

Cheers. I've got a couple of BM Empire troops left over, think I'll paint them in a college livery and stick them on the base.
