Mini recommendation: Asian theme in Necromunda
« on: 26 April 2014, 03:32:00 PM »

So I'm using these bad boys as an Escher gang in Necromunda, under the guise of being some Asian-themed merchant house from slightly higher up in the Hive. I'm stuck deciding what to use as Juves. Any recommendations? It'd need to be something vaguely Asiatic, sci-fi(ish) and slight of frame, to show their youthfulness. I'm not above some conversion, either.
You can see why this is giving me trouble. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Good call, I already picked up a few Mishima Ronin to bulk out the H2 gangers, but I really want the BAMF on the very right, with his swords drawn.

Kickass paint jobs, I might add. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

BANG. Ask and ye shall receive.

Asian-themed Necromunda gang. Nice idea. Necromunda was the only GW game I really liked.

Looking forward to seeing picture.

I have an extra of the swords drawn guy...pm me if interested in a long distance mini trade.

Since you're using Void/Urban WarTriads, another option would be to use the "Triad Retainers with Naginatas".

The hands and polearms are separate from the bodies so it is a simple matter of cutting off the shaft of the polearm and attaching the hands to the wrists in vertical positions. You can then use the head of the polearms as swords and put pistols in the other hand.

Much the same thing can be done to make Heavies.

I saw a conversion of some WGF Ashigaru with Infinity weapons replacing their normal period-appropriate rifles, and I thought those were very effective conversions.  I think they would look a bit slighter of frame than the Void figures, which would make them appropriate for juves, so you might try something similar.

these aren't perfect (they're the wrong scale and not quite the same style), but they're pretty awesome models anyway.

there are quite a few minis in the Ten Thunders range from Wyrd.

Thanks for the great sugestions all, and here I thought it would be difficult to source the right minis. I like the idea of knife and pistol weilding Japanese schoolgirls as the Juves. I've purchased a pack of the retainers with naginatas to convert into gangers using melee and pistol weapons (thanks for the how-to Sykoholic, that heavy is particularly good, as are the chem dogs on your DA).

Big thanks to Basement Dweller for contacting me to arrange a mini trade for the swords out Mishima Samurai.

Those are a whole lot of cool. Did you ever get this project off the ground?
