Sumptuous colours Curt. Wonderful  :-*

Dolmot - a break from the cultists, room for more fishmen!  :). You are a true son of Innsmouth.

Always a joy to see your 1812 work, Curt.  Stiff competition, though.  Those fish lads are scarier than a Cossack in a Russian winter!

@Captain Blood: Thank you! I know it would've been easy to paint these in dreary drab winter tones but I thought it might be interesting to introduce some punchy colours from the looted civilian clothing.

@Mad Padre: Cheers Mike! Yes, Dolmot's Deep Ones are brilliant. I really need to get a set of those for our Strange Aeons games.

I only voted this way because I'm a historical wargamer first and Cthulhu Role-playing gamer second.  They both are excellent

I really enjoy both entries.

Dolmot you've got a great collection of buildings. I already bought a few great Rusty Rail things thanks to your entries. Where's this one from?

Thanks, Cap'n (and others). I don't know if anyone spotted the witty transition last week but there's some strange continuity across ages here.

It's from Stronghold, nicely between generic and characterful, I'd say. Very well sculpted and a pleasure to paint too.

Curt, it's a fine scene. Am I right assuming it's the "last stand" group on foot that forms the actual entry? I deduced so from the title, but from the pic alone it's a bit hard to tell...

@Dolmot: Sorry for any confusion, yes, the French infantry are both the focus and the entry. I added a few more plus some cossacks for sake of narrative. I've noticed some entries in the LPL are virtually awash with figures so I thought why fight fight the tide.  ;)

Historically the 18th Ligne did loose its Eagle at Krasnoi after refusing to follow orders to destroy it during the retreat. Today the Eagle of the 18th can be viewed at the Hermitage in St Petersburg.
