Welcome to Cyber Control
« on: May 01, 2014, 08:15:55 AM »
Still working on the main Cyberman force but nicked this idea from Matakishi of using mini digital photo frames as screens.
Did one as a monitor and another as an operations table (just test pictures at the moment but really pleased with the results  8)

and the hide behind the sofa version  :o

Fantastic idea! And really interesting for my Cyberpunk project. Where did you get these?

Hang on, isn't that a Federation ship on the screen? Is this the biggest crossover/ twist ever? Are the Borg evolved from Cybermen? Or will they ultimately clash in an assimilation to the death?

Off Ebay £3 quid each, they are actually digital photo frames to go on your key chain. 1.5" screen, rechargable via USB lead.

:D would be a great crossover, but no these were just test pictures I downloaded. I'm doing Cybermen vs Daleks so will generate my own images for the actual game.
The monitor one will cycle through various pictures of Daleks advancing through corridors!  8)

The Who/Trek crossover was the "big thing" in comics earlier in the year

I didn't read it, but from the (very ugly) issues I flicked through, the main story was Matt Smith's Doctor meeting the Next Generation Enterprise crew - the cover above illustrates a flashback, I suppose.
Back from the dead, almost.

Where are those Cybermen figs from (I don't recognize them)? Or are they scratchbuilt?

Scratch built, these particular ones are using the assault troopers from Akulas Galactic Armies
with my own conversions. There are more close ups of the miniatures here on the original thread

I'd never heard of these mini photo album things. Billboards and advertising seem like another obvious use for them, especially on a cyberpunk/Infinity-style futuristic urban table.

Neat stuff!

I used them in the control room of my 'zombie over-run underground base that looks like a space crusade board' game.
