Mounted civilian figures
« on: May 02, 2014, 10:30:37 PM »
I considered posting this in "Age of the Big Battalions".
I'm looking for mounted civilians (men in top hats). Obviously there's Picton at Waterloo, but he is often sculpted waving an umbrella.
Anyone know of any others?

That is a tough one  :?

The only suggestion I can make is the Boot Hill Texian Adventurers figures, but even those would need tricky converting if you don't want your civilians armed with muskets. And there's only one in each pack with a top hat...

I had considered Boot Hill, but I really want them unarmed, or pistols might be ok

(I need President Madison and his colleagues for an 1814 game, but thought VSF might have more chance of providing figures)

Well, I don't know whether it's any use, but I have one of these old Wargames Foundry War of 1812 mounted guys, but he's wearing a buckskin (?) jacket. The musket shouldn't be too hard to remove though.
I can send him to you if you want? He might do.

Foundry used to do a small War of 1812 range ages ago, but I can't find any of the figures on their site at the moment.

There are some top hats in the Foundry OW range:

The other option is of course to do some headswaps to get those tophats mounted  ;)

Hi Gary,

What about the mounted Governor figure from this pack:

He is unarmed, wearing a round hat and carrying a cane.

Let me know if you are interested and I will see if I hava a spare casting.
