Will hopefully be able to pledge for one in a couple of days :-)
Any chance of Odin on foot? And as for other gods, Frey and his antler could make for an interesting piece...

I'm planning a version of Odin on foot, but in his Gandalfy-style wanderer mode... i really need to do his wolves as well.
An antler-armed Frey is a great idea! I'll put him on the short-list.

Very nice, Sleipnir looks fantastic, that couldn't have been easy to work out the legs!

I'm going to be slightly picky though and it's something that would bug me if I bought the model (thinking about it though :)). Odin is missing the wrong eye. Odin gives up his right eye to drink from Mimir's well.
So many projects..... so little time.......

... Odin is missing the wrong eye. Odin gives up his right eye to drink from Mimir's well.

Can I ask what you are basing that on? I've been through everything I can find, and there's nothing in the early sources to say which eye it should be at all... It's only when nineteenth century writers start translating / re-writing the sagas that we get any mention of which eye it is. And they don't agree either, some saying right, some saying left.
But if you've got an early reference that sorts it out, I'd love to have it, even if it means I have to do some re-sculpting! :)

I shall go check, I've only read a translation though, my Norse is a little rusty ;)

Edit: Well, the two books I pulled off the shelf, the more recent one says right eye, the other (from the 50's) just says 'an eye'. The right eye predates the 19th Century romanticism though as this manuscript illustration is from the 1700's.

Edit 2: Any idea which Saga talks of Odin's eye? I thought it was the Ynglinga but I've just had a look at my translation and I can't find any reference to it at all.

It gets a mention in the Prose Edda, the Ynlinga, and very briefly in the Völuspá, but none of them say which eye.

In terms of art, there's this 10th century sculpt of (allegedly) Odin, with the left eye missing.

As far as I can tell, there's never been any agreement on exactly which eye it should be...

......that is so very, very cool. I've resisted Kickstarters up until now, but I may have to pluck for this one.

Oh - and short list wise, please don't do Freyr! I've already painstakingly crafted my own, and seeing you do a far better job would be hearbreaking!  ;D

I backed and I definitely like the update you sent today with the plan for future pantheon figs.

Mr Marx, great job on that Freyr! Who needs a magic sword when you've got an antler! :D

BigB, thanks very much!

That is a great Freyr, sir!

Now I know exactly why you were asking for an antler some time back.

Now that Odin's funded, we've decided to continue with the Norse pantheon and make a model of Freyja and her boar, Hildisvini.
I'll be recording the process in the Kickstarter updates, so if you want to see the ham-fisted way I sculpt minis, take a look (and pledge for Odin while you're there!   ;) )

Thank yee. :)

Finding *exactly* the right antler was 80% of the project to be honest.
