There's always something on sale at Black Tree...

I love their stuff, get the newsletter and you'll get notified when they are running a sale.

Someone might question the validity of their business plan, but actually for someone like me who already has way too much stockpiled lead, a nice sale is the incentive to get me to buy something new.

If everything is always list price, I figure I can buy the figures later as well but usually never actually do...

Just ordered a 500 point german army for Bolt Action; a few months ago I ordered 500 points for a US army (also with a 50% discount :D). I gonna try in the next few months to paint/dip them so this fall I can have a game with them.

Rant Warning!

Second that. Nothing but first class service- and I have used them loads. My figures have always arrived within a week, and on more than one occasion the next day! They are well cast too- sometimes mold-lines and flash, but nothing terrible.

Everyone rates hasslefree and companies like that for their service and so on (and quite justified too) but it does get on my nerves when people slag BTD for being shit without good grounds. Now I know they used to be shit, and I am well aware of the long list of crimes again humanity they are responsible for, but that was years ago. now they are just a regular mini companies who sell good figure very cheaply.

I don't think their is any value in this thread becoming a long list of people saying things like "Well I one ordered £50 worth of what ever and they never turned up...and that was eight years ago and I am still crying myself to sleep over it!" We have all heard that before. Just learn to accept that whatever problems BTD was suffering back then in the bad old days has been resolved and that now they are a regular company trying to make it in a difficult economic time.

I think it is fine to warn people if a company is carrying out bad practice, but not if your complaint is based on something that happened years ago and isn't a reflection of the current reality. If you don't want to use BTD, then don't. But there are those of use who do value them and want to see them continue to be in business for years to come.

I am sorry if this seems a bit ranty and off topic- I meant to say that I have no problems with BTD and I kinda went off on a tangent...I think I better go and have a bath and calm down.  ;D

As a disclaimer I think I should add that I am no in anyway connected to BTD, just a satisfied customer.

I once had a figure backordered, which "fell in the cracks".

After a few weeks I queried about it and the issue was immediately settled. This is also the only time I've had figure backordered from BTD, apparently I ordered a very rare code that was not in stock.

That's about the only problem I've ever had with BTD.

Yup. Nice prices BTD is doing, and nice job. :)
Even if you dont get 35% or 50%, by being a registered costumer you usually get 15% cheaper than a normal costumer.
And to help things on, from time to time you also get a gift certificate of % discount that you can always use combining with other discounts. :D

Cheers

One thing to watch out for, though, is how discounts affect individual product prices.

Quite often the army and platoon deals are not discounted, making it cheaper to buy the individual packs while a sale is going on.

I can understand not stacking discount upon discount, but letting the customer get hit for selecting the "wrong" code within a range is a bit stupid IMHO.

It's still showing on the home page, but when I go to checkout, it's just 10%....
