VASILIEV’S FACESVasiliev: There are many tales and speculations about the giant in the mask. The most persistent one is that he grew up far away on the mainland to the east and walked through the Sollus infested continent until he came to the sea, there he made a raft and sailed the stormy sea for three days until he made land in the F-UK. He is never seen without the strange and eerie mask over his face, nor his Desert Eagle or battleblade. Whatever his purpose is, he keeps his own council but has attracted a following of sorts due to his near mythological status. Many fear him, with suspicions about what may hide behind that mask, but for a select few he has shown what a determined person can do and he has earned their loyalty, which works both ways.
Heinrich: Heinrich is a changed man but he had a bad beginning in life. His mother was a junkie whore and his dad could’ve been anyone, Heinrich had to learn very early in life that the only one that could keep him safe was himself. Being a bit on the short side he had to take every advantage he could and discovered that skill with a gun had nothing to do with size, and he was a natural shot with a killer instinct. In this capacity Heinrich grew to adulthood and beyond, hiring out his skills to whomever paid him. He has done some terrible things in his life and the darkness in his soul kept growing until one day he was very near to letting it consuming him. Sitting amidst the corpses of the family he had massacred Heinrich drew his pistol, put the barrel in his mouth and pulled the trigger!!! CLICK! He ejected the damaged round and as he was about to try again a soothing female voice spoke up: “It must’ve been a sign that your Road is not at an End yet, there is still time to repent.” Surrounded by the cool sunlight was an Asian woman, she was the most beautiful sight he had ever seen, Heinrich only hesitated for a moment and then took her hand. He is getting better and has slowly started to appreciate life again, Preeta is always there to push the darkness back until he’s strong enough on his own.
Preeta: A tall and very attractive woman of Asian descent with a regal bearing and also the second in command. Preeta grew up in small community of Foresters, trying to eke out their living away from the surrounding strife and bloodshed, becoming more harmonious with both nature and themselves. She had a loving family and a true gift, she cared about all things living in equal measures, it was almost as if the animals understood her. But it was not to last, Raiders found the secluded settlement and with greed in their eyes they fell upon it bringing fire and death in their wake. When the smoke had cleared, and the screams and the gunshots had been silenced, Preeta was the only one moving in the village. She was unharmed as she had hidden for the Raiders and mourned for three days, not for herself but for everyone else that had been killed or abducted and for the lost innocence. She was found on the third day by Vasiliev, she was overcome with thirst and hunger and he nursed her back to health. A short while later they found Heinrich and she keeps shining her peace like a Beacon into his Dark Soul and one day maybe the shadows will go away for ever.
Castrol and Bollux: Growing up in the outskirts of Mutantchester, Castrol and his twin brother Bollux had to pull their weight for the large family to survive. Mum and dad had twelve children to support and the twins were the eldest. On the outside it’s very difficult to tell the difference between one from the other, but there are small differences if you know what to look for, Castrol is a bit thinner in the face and Bollux has a small scar underneath his ear. But in personality they are very different. Castrol is a quiet, introvert who loves old books and magazines whereas Bollux can be quite gruff and bellicose. When the other children had grown up a bit they simply left one day, Castrol had written a note which is doubtful that his parents were able to read but it said: “We aff two ceek advenjchure. Cas and Boll”.
Bernie: He has barely reached manhood but is almost arrogantly confident in his abilities, always immaculately dressed and outfitted, there’s definitely a narcissistic streak in him. He claims to be related to the royal family from before the war but the claimed lineage changes every time. It’s not clear why he has joined up with Vasiliev, but his fastdraw and marksman skills with the two .38’s he carries in an ancient shoulder rig comes in very handy from time to time.
Alvis King: He was born in the deep south (Cornwall) and always loved music. When he was 10 he made his very own first guitar and since then he’s perfected the skill and whenever he sings people stop and listen, it’s a magnificent voice indeed and you will never forget it. He found an ancient poster in the ruins of a shopping centre of an entertainer from Before and something in the man’s appearance struck a resonant chord within Alvis, he made his own suit, full of sequins and now he travels the F-UK with his backing band, The Troubledours to spread the word: “Rock n’ Roll with Alvis King!!!”
Lemmy: Lemmy is in charge of the more gritty side of “Business” as Alvis puts it and the percussion section when they perform. Lemmy is big and strong and has fashioned his own drum kit from dustbin lids and other paraphernalia. Lemmy is the only one in the band that’s not singing during a performance, but he might be inspired towards the end when everyone are dead drunk to sing a tune or two, in a surprisingly pleasant baritone voice. But Lemmy is too shy to sing out in front of people without being absolutely plastered himself.
Dion: He has perfect pitch and only has to hear a song once to be able to sing it through, but he’s far too modest to stand in the way of Alvis. On stage he is a bit wooden and although technically very skilled he is nowhere near the performer that Alvis is. Usually he’s content with arranging the harmonies, filling in with the backing vocals due to his immense range and writing songs for the band.
Brunhilde: This woman can literally tear down the house! At 6’4” and 160lbs she is almost a force of nature, she has an extremely powerful voice and can make herself heard in the most fearsome battle! Brunhilde brings sophistication and culture to the band in the form of opera and folk melodies, she refuses to sing “that atrocious rock n’ pap”.
SamDave: Scruffy, lanky, quiet and longhaired it’s easy to overlook him but on stage it’s like someone has thrown a switch within him. He’s belting it out like a pro, complete with choreographed dance steps, stage antics like falling on your knees, kicking the microphone stand and swinging it around, playing his contrabass lying on the floor and such.
Aretha Queen: whereas Brunhilde is a force of nature, Aretha is suave, smooth and sexy! Musically she’s the least skilled of them all but her stage performance is second to none. She usually has to close the performance because by that time most in the audience are beating each other up in an attempt to get up on the stage with her. It’s not ideal, but Alvis recognises the “business” that she will attract and she recognises the protection she enjoys. As a solo artist she wouldn’t last through her first performance.
