A roleplay/ wargame between myself (Germans), and Mark and Katherine (Ku) (British paras)

We've been playing a lot of the rpg we've built around the SOTR world and I wanted an excuse to use the Ainsty terrain graveyard and to paint Marks British paras and my own new werewolves (Slap miniatures)....also, Ku, whilst an experienced roleplayer in our group hasn't done much wargaming. It was a fantastic game which all of us got a buzz out of and we'll be playing and sending in the gory details again soon :)

So...heres the set up. Mi13 occult expert Lt Higgins has been given the location of a famed text on lycanthropy which its believed the Germans have either hidden or even possibly lost, it lies in an abandoned graveyard deep behind enemy lines. Her Mi13 associate Sergeant Heaton is given a small unit of British paras to help support her and protect whilst she digs in the graveyard to find the tome of the wolf.

The graveyard sits at the centre of a long ruined and abandoned woodland village:

The paras and the Mi13 specialists, having made their way to the site set up an all round defence of the graveyard but send two fire teams to watch the perimeter from two flanking woodlands, Ku...ponders the setup.

Whilst two small aufklarer groups do edge on to the battlefield both are easily killed of routed by the para fire teams in the flanking woods, meanwhile, in the graveyard the search for the tome of the wolf centres on one particular grave.

Trapped!!! zombie gas sprays from the chosen tomb and two of the British paras fail respirator checks...only to die and rise again.

By the time the paras kill their now undead companions another two paras have been killed, neither rises again.

Fresh German scouting groups and a pair of snipers begin to edge towards the British position, long range fire fights go in the British favour but they do take casualties as well and begin to worry about what the Germans might throw at them next.

concerned by the building pressure and slowly but surely rising casualties the British fire teams fall back to the grave yard behind covers of smoke grenades.

just in time!!!!!.....the Germans next attacks are by werewolf packs who would have undoubtedly slaughtered the outnumbered para fire teams in the woods.

The first werewolves are cut down by bren guns but the second and third pack close and the defence of the graveyard begins in earnest.

Deep inside one of the graves Lt Higgins has found not only the tome of the wolf but also also a silver sword,  as one white furred female werewolf charges through the hail of bren gun fire she moves to attack it with the paras mobbing the werewolf.

three more paras die at the white wolfs teeth and claws before finally the silver sword cuts her down and the remaining paras fight off the other packs and clear the nearby woods of the of annoying snipers with unsubtle but brutally effective piat and captured panzer faust shots.

the paras and Mi13 leaders make their escape and the tome of the wolf and the sword of St.Graal are now in the hands of Mi13 cell "Gawain"....its not the end of the story, just the start of the next chapter  ;)
