Wow! Two master painters, Neldoreth and Zoogla, going head-to-head! Joe, I love the details like the very natural checkered pattern on the Arab's headdress. Zoogla, such shading of your colors! You both deserve to win.

I think that Mike Owen sculpt of Lawrence of Arabia must be the most used miniature in this year's LPL. I'm sure that's at least half a dozen of us who have used him

I never liked the look of those Foundry 18th century civilians from their website photos, but now I see what can be done with them (at least if you can paint as well as Zoogla, which is no mean thing!).

Captain Blood, I honestly thought that the Arab Revolt was going to be a rare entry... I guess smart minds all think alike! Your Arabs are excellent by the way, I really like the colours that you worked in and the character you managed to build into your scene. Honestly, I feel that you would have come out on top if I had been matched against you on this one! Kudos.

Mind you, the Arabic is nonsense too, sad to say, so the spellings on both side cancel each other out. Given the high degree of skill on both parties in the painting department one tiny bit of research into Arabic would have been welcome, though having struggled with (25 years ago) an unfamiliar orthography, I wish not to be too hard. Other than that, both deserve crdit and an 'ouch' choice of voting rather than an obvious one.

Oh, I don't mind - the loco is too new and american, so it can have calligraphic nonsense arabic 

but who cares, the entry is great
