Copplestone Castings compared to others?
« on: May 25, 2014, 11:50:21 PM »
All,
My collection for Pulp games consist presently of WF Zulus, Perry Madhists and Foundry figures. I know that some of the Copplestone figures are quite large compared to others in his own ranges.  Are there any that I should really avoid?

The Back Of Beyond Brits are the ones that really stand out against the others.

Those are the ones, the Indians and Gurkha's are OK though. With regard to Brits, Dave has some in his RFF force and they they never really stand out too much on the table.

Phil,
Okay, thanks much.  I was looking more at the High Adventure and Gangster ranges anyway, so I guess I am okay mixing them.

Gary,
"Don't understand me so well" (or whatever it was that Chris said to Harry), I didn't include them because I know they fit perfectly with what I have.  I only wish there was a single dealer that carried both Pulp and Copplestone here in the US.

What that man said.  In Spades...

I have Murch figures I'm not over-fond of, but not a single bad one.

Customer service second to none, a real gentleman, amazingly talented, & a catalog that covers pretty much all the bases.

Feller could do LOTS worse'n startin' out with any of the products of Bob's fertile mind.

Yep, I'm a flagwaver, nothing more'n a VERY happy Pulp Figures customer...

Basically I'm getting from Bob things that Copplestone doesn't do, and vice versa.  US sailors and Merchant seamen. But I may end up getting everything from him.

Bob's aces with sailors, USN or otherwise!  & They all fit together nicely.

I'm travelling that road myself, so lemme caution you on Tiger's "Sand Pebble" sailors, the're HUGE!!
They're beautiful, very nicely detailed, well cast, full of character, but real monsters, 32mm+, won't blend with anybody I've already got.
If I'm lucky I can have 'em crew a boat by themselves, but for now they're quartered apart, not slated for priming anytime soon.

I'm told the other Tiger sailors are more reasonably proportioned, as I've found their other folks to be.

I'm after Coasties myself, like these lads:

I'm planning on sunnier climes myself, but I think this is a GREAT photo!

YMMV
