Thanks chaps!  8)

Made some progress on the Mark V tanks - they are pretty much done. Some quick photos from the painting desk.

I'll try and get some better photos over the next few days.

Very nice Fred!  And lots of little inspirations all around.  May I ask, do you think it's a good idea to base the tanks at this scale or not?  I see yours are based, but i'm not sure if after doing it you still think it was the right idea.  As a rule, I tend not to base vehicles, but this is my first foray into this scale.

Cheers Mate!

I base tanks for a couple of reasons

1) protection - probably more in storage and transport than in games. I magnetically base all my figures.

2) representation - I often play at a fairly high level, 1 stand to a platoon or company. So it helps to say this unit should have this footprint.

Cheers Fred!  That was more or less what I suspected, but I just wanted to confirm.  I have some rendrea plastic bases I plan to use for my vehicles and then use cut out magnet to add to the bottom.  Really inspiring stuff!

Managed to get back to this project recently - hope to get some stuff finished to join the WWI painting club.  I've been working on some WWI heavy kit.

A7V, with camo added - used a couple of shades on the browns - though it doesn't really show in this photo. Nearly ready to get this based up.

Holt tractor and 60pdr - not quite sure what to do with this next - it looks a bit flat, I'm not even sure about the shade of green...

After a ridiculously long time I have added to this project.

Some late war British infantry, these guys give me a Brigade for GWSH, along with a few extra stands of divisional assets (Cav, & heavy mortars).

Still work in progress, need to finish the basing, and matt varnish the figures - but getting very close after probably a year sitting based coated on painting sticks.

Super work! Obviously I had missed this before. Especially like the Whippets and the camp guns.

Thanks James.

Realised that I had a slightly better picture of the British infantry - though the water effects hadn't quite dried when it was taken.
