Impetus Western Late Romans(Cataphracts added 28.10.14)
« on: May 26, 2014, 11:08:50 AM »
I'm starting my Impetus Western Late Roman mobile field army (Comitatenses) project. Since I hope to finish it in a reasonable amount of time I opted for AP with additional highlights added.

First up are some Heavy Infantry with archer support. All my infantry will be done in 4 units colour coded blocks consisting of 2 spear and 2 archer units. The figures are Foundry with LBM transfers plus some MIG pigments on the shields.

Thanks for viewing! :)

Now that is the way to do impetus basing properly with lots of figures! Great painting too.
Clear the battlefield and let me see
All the profit from our victory.

Nice ones. :-* :-*
Keep them coming.
If you dont mind an opinion, since you gave the dust efect on the shields, do also some scratch as if battle damaged. It might improve a little more. Just try in one first and see if you like the look of it.

Cheers

.... Finally someone with a wonderful Perry Late Roman Army.....

Between yourself and everyone else producing lovely armies on this board, my Arthurian period interest is being rekindled.
That was one thing that I had thought that I had left behind me.

Yes, that does look cool, however I'm going after a slightly used look rather then a beat up one for this army. Thanks for the advice though. :)

Some of my armies have less figures per base depending on what I'm trying to do, but these LR Foundry ones are not big figures and so you do need to add more figures per base or it just looks to open and not solid enough.

I hear you. You think you have shelved something, but things have a way of coming back again.
