Painting Terracotta?
« on: 30 May 2014, 06:08:13 PM »
Evening all,

Could anyone point me towards a good tutorial for painting terracotta? (As in the effect/colour. I've not started spinning pots.)

I need to paint a Terracotta army...

I use a terracotta craft paint base, brown washes, and then detail highlight from there with the base color and white or yellow mixes.

I did a bunch of Clan War figs this way and it worked great. The only thing extra I did was add some clumps of dirt with Siflor tufts to make them look as if they had been buried.

I must admit, I really like the Foundry Terracotta triad as long as it's had a good coat of matt varnish  :)

cheers

I would second the Foundry triad. Excellent paint.
