Venus Inspiration?

While this subject was inspired by doing In Her Majesty's Name in 15 mm, it has applicability for my more general and battle VSF gaming.

I am using Rebel Miniatures for both the Swamp/jungle dwelling "Lizards" in the airborne fungus infected Hell (for humans) of the Lowlands, masked Pulp British Infantry for Spain's core forces, and Steam Punk Adventurers for the Highlands adventure gaming.  

Basically I need a 15 mm (+/-) set of figures for the Highland Natives.  I have a few candidates in mind from Magister Militum such as the 10 mm Insectoids, their 15 mm Meerkats, their 15 mm Mongeese, or the 10 mm Ursineupials (remote possibility,) but I am not locked to M. M. at all.

So I am looking at both ideas, (run wild with your imagination,) and/or miniatures in 10/15/18 mm size  (will consider 6 mm) of that Highlands dwelling race (think the Mesas of the American Southwest as inspiration) for my consideration, please.  Any manufacturer works, with it obviously easier to get figures from North America or The UK, and they must be more primitive weaponry than the Spanish, (native Musket technology maybe,) forces.

The Highland species will range relationally from Allied to neutral but willing to trade to hostile (but nobody can be as hostile as the Lowland Lizards.)
