Rumacara´s Napoleonic stuff
« on: June 04, 2014, 02:35:40 PM »
Hello all

After reading some topics about this subject, specially the one from Captain Blood and is wonderfully painted miniatures i humbly present some diferent ideas for the subject.
By no means well painted (some 6 years ago) but maybe some crazy ideas for some.
I also modified the tittle because i want to add from time to time several diferent napoleonic stuff so here it is.

First picture:
Wargames foundry royal marine officer with two pistols glued.
Royal marine as it is from foundry and at his side a converted one as a sailor.
Front rank spanish figure with a swap on his hat and coat at the back.

Second picture:
BTD germanic warrior (yes it is) head swap, and a new from redoubt enterprises plus sword on right hand and pistol on left hand.
Foundry AWI figure with coat transformed
Foundry pirate that i think i sculped the shirt if i remember well
Foundry darkest africa tribesmen with musket with neck scarf sculped

Cheers

Rui

Nice conversions!  I envy people who can sculpt.   :D

The converted AWI figure works perfectly.
And very clever to use an Ancient German with his bare chest and trousers. Great idea. I might have to steal that!

Not a great fan of the actual Foundry Napoleonic landing party figures I must say. I find them quite ugly...  ::)

Hello all

Thanks for the comments.
Well Captain Blood, with your painting skills i bet they become gorgeous. ;)
Some of the Front Rank figures also do if we pick the right miniatures and with a small amount of transformation.
The BTD transformations are harder because of the weapons. The rest i find easy to transform and a sculped scarf really disguises some head changes.

Rui your conversion skills and the vision that goes with them is astounding.

Please share the source of the pistols and swords. Are they from Redoubt? They obviously include an enclosed fist?

Hello all

Furt, the pistols are from redoubt enterprises swaped from some pirates i didnt like, bought many years ago.
They are not well casted but the hands with the pistols served well.
Maybe some day i will use the heads as well.
The swords i dont remember but yes its possible they also are from redoubt.
You can also buy separated weapons from Front Rank (pistols, muskets and swords).
You or any person feel free to ask what you want.
I will try my best to help on your conversions.

These conversions where made some 5 or 6 years ago. No if i want to make any sword or spear i use a piece of metal and beat it with a hammer until i shape what i want and then with a file i give the final shape.

Hope its usefull.

Cheers

Thanks Rui. So you didn't buy separate "hands holding pistols", but a whole pirate miniature holding a pistol and chopped his hand off?

Hello all

Yes Furt, i did that.
It sounds expensive i know but we end up with that miniature we always imagined and wanted and that´s rewarding.
I also bought the pirates cheap.
Unfortunately there are no boxes of plastic pirates in 28mm or else i would have a lot more converted miniatures for that period/theme. :D

Exactly my concern - the price.  :'(

But you are right about the unique figure of course.

I would love a plastic sprue of left and right hands holding pistols and swords etc for conversions in this period.
