Ici Londres,

Veuillez écouter tout d'abord quelques messages personnels:

Les sanglots longs
Des violons
De l’automne

Je répète:
Les sanglots longs
Des violons
De l’automne

Blessent mon cœur
D’une langueur
Monotone.

Je répète:
Blessent mon cœur
D’une langueur
Monotone.

Dedicated to Uncle Dick, who seventy years ago today was having a birthday he would never forget, at a place they called Juno Beach.

Nicely done, but let's not forget those who fought to free France though their own country had no prospect of freedom.

Back from the dead, almost.

Oh it's not that I forgot them. I didn't think they landed on D-Day itself (though I may be mistaken), which is what my little mini-project was concerned with. And besides, this whole thing was a very last minute affair, and practical considerations prevented any more figures being painted in time. Barely got them done as it is.

But anyway, that's just me needlessly quibbling. I agree with you totally.

Wonderful tribute to Uncle Dick on this anniversary. Nice one Plynkes.
You appear to have hit a rich seam of form  :)

Plynkes, you're a star. Thanks for flying the Canadian Red Ensign.

Thanks, guys.

You appear to have hit a rich seam of form  :)

That's very kind, especially coming from you. I wish I could say the same about my spray matt varnish, which tried its utmost to ruin the entire thing. Barely managed to rescue the minis and make them presentable.

Ain't buying any more of that Army Painter crap again.  ;D

Judging by the telly programmes the miserable old bugger has had a lovely day for it. He'll be wearing his Tam O' Shanter and Maple Leaf badge no doubt (though from the Welsh Marches like me, he was attached to the Canadians on D-Day, and he's still pretty attached to them now :)). Hope he's swigging on a big glass of Calvados right now.  :)

Very nice work! I'll be catching up on some of the services on iView (the Australian broadcaster's streaming service) and watching The Longest Day tonight, as I have my own mighty endeavour this afternoon, a Botany exam.  :(

Great paint job !

As a Norman of Caen myself, I thank your Uncle Dick and all his companions once again. We will never forget their sacrifice for our freedom!
