Send a gunboat (2.0)
« on: June 17, 2014, 09:30:30 PM »
This is my second attempt to construct a plasticard gunboat, the first one (too big) is still waiting some inspiration to be finished. But this one (much smaller) is advancing at good pace…

First the raw hull… And some painting.

I have to recognize that for wargaming is a bit narrow.

Shaping up nicely.  :) It already has the look of a Victorian vessel. Looking forward to seeing the finished model.

You are off to a good start.
Like the shape of the hull.

Really nice work. I like the idea of the washers as portholes.

Work in progress… The bridge, the funnel and the searchlight structure… with several configurations. Preferences? (you can vote in the open poll) :)

a) ventilators after the bridge and space between funnel and serchlight "tower"
b) un single structure with bridge, funnel and searchlight
c) bridge and funnel alltogether and serchlight structure separated

Any other idea?

Looking very good.  How about a winch on the front for an anchor?

Yes… I want to add details (they are coming…. not on hand yet) once I set the final structure configuration.

Very nice but what you should really be doing is building one in 15 mm until finished and then send it to me to give a close inspection but if it doesn't pass inspection I will have to not send in back so you have an opportunity to do a better job.  Then repeat as necessary until you get my full approval.  By then I assure you you'll be ready to do a fabulous job on your larger scale model. >:D

Ahhh, yes…. scaling-up for testin purposes  ;) for my beloved 15mm. With all the test you are proposing is like constructing a fleet!!

BTW… Vikings and Samartians doesn't use gunboats… true? :D

You are progressing nicely, but I would, on a more serious note, consider the idea of making a small scale mockup first, before You start glueing things into place

Progressing… I think that looks "British" more than "German" (that was my intention)...
