Pulp Alley Plot Points as "Bad Guys"?
« on: 19 June 2014, 05:31:42 PM »
Dave, Mila etal,

I'm setting up the "Smash and Grab" scenario.  The main plot point is a missing Archaeologist who is being led to sacrifice by the servants of the Idol.  Could pairs or groups of servants be plot points?  Or should thye be played as an opposing league?  In this particular scenario, I don't logically see any other appropriate plot points.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Nick

The plot points could be friendly natives helping to track down the archaeologist, hostile natives needing to be coerced, belongings of the archaeologist (a diary, etc), or even a cultist, as you say.

Yup, I think that would work well, Nick. Here are a few ideas you might also consider for other minor plot points ---

Bound Prisoner -- Perhaps the cult has another captive bound and gagged nearby...

Bloodstained Message -- Finding this lost message may uncover clues about the Idol cult and/or lead to other adventures...

Ancient Amulet -- This ancient amulet is sacred to the followers of the Idol and may provide an advantage when dealing with them...

Smuggled Diamonds -- A hidden cache of smuggled diamonds may suggest that there is more to this cult than bloody murder...

HAVE FUN

Dave,
Thanks, I am still struggling with the minor plot point.  I don't know quite how to use them  or make them fit.

I often think of the minor plot points as clues that lead to the major plot point (Trail of Clues being the clearest example of this).
