I don't get the point of the zombivors.  I understand why they are there but really can't see any attraction to use them - once a character is dead that should be it, or they rise as zombies themselves but zombivors???  A kind of zombie that fights with the good guys - why bother?

I've played 1 game where fate decided one player's character was killed very fast. Since I was hosting the game on a boardgame community gamenight with newbies, I decided to use the zombievors so he could still play along. It stretched the game enormously and in the end, I was the only zombvir on the board, with the rotten skill, so zombies couldn't  touch me and I couldn't move...

So, no thanks, no zombivors in the gameplay (what doesn't mean I don't like the zombivor figs  :D)

I've backed this, but am mildly concerned that the postage to Australia in the end is going to be vast and wallet-breaking...

I was contemplating to pledge, but then I decided to back the Shadows over Normandie kickstarter. I like Zombicide fine, but 1, LNOE is the better zombie game IMHO, 2, Heroes of Normandie is better as a game overall, and I need those sweet expansions that the SONormandie kickstarter offers. :)

I use the zombivors whenever a player dies as a kind of a VIP zombie. If the remaining players can take it out i close combat they can grab one of the dead players equipment cards.
Sometimes that can be very handy for grabbing that bag of rice you need to complete the mission or if the dead player had been carying a molotov or something.

Nonplussed? Does that mean your unperturbed? Or are you surprised and confused? :)

I *think* we're on the same page though. I have a billion zombies to paint already, many survivors still in raw plastic, zombivors that I will likely never paint, many scenarios that I have yet to play, and no more room in my closet for any more games... So the extras don't really grab me all that much... Actually, now I'm wondering why I even got in to this kickstarter?!? ;)

Thanks
n.

Not concerned at all about missing a few of them :D Sorry, in the middle of writing my dissertation so sometimes those kinds of words work their way in...lol

I have literally boxes of their stuff in my closet that I forgot I had.  Time to stop buying!   But I'll get this release and whatever freebies come.  But I'm not shelling out for any more.

On the other side, I did sell my S1 exclusives for $600.00, so I still feel way ahead of the game money wise!

Agreed. I have considered placing a 'zombivor' figure in place of the formerly living character and treating it like a normal but newly-spawned zombie just for fun... I was thinking that I'd not add this person if there was a feeding frenzy though... But I'll definitely consider treating them like a VIP and letting players grab a single item. Seems like it would really add a lot of value and character to the game.

Thanks

By all means steal away.

More often than not it tends to not really mean anything, but it is just a bit of character and fun.

This one has potential... There's an exclusive campaign in there apparently!

Yes I am quite exited about that compendium. It is just nicer to have a propper book in stead of a print from the web.

3D terrain options buys! Although, it looks like you get many, many doors and a few barricades?!?

Thanks

Yeah, that was my first impression too.
I guess they want to offer all doors needed to be able to use in every scenario.
Too bad they didn't create a separate offer for the barricades, so we could choose to buy more with out aqcuiring a shedload of doors.
(then again, they might come in handy for scratchbuilders...)
