Burning of the White House, 1814
« on: 01 July 2014, 10:54:14 PM »
Last weekend, at the War Torn convention in Scarborough, my club (Scarborough College Wargames Society, a school club) put on a demonstration game which involved burning down a certain civil building. The game its self was played out over two days, and, unlike the historic event, had no decisive victor but the British had seized the upper hand and pushed back Barney's men to the White House. We also played the game on a much smaller scale, with Bladensburg only being on the other side of the board to the White House.

Anyway, I thought I would put up a few photos from the weekend of our game for your perusal. The White House its self was built by James, one of our club members for his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award and is scratch built. One of the highlights was winning 'Best Independent Game' for our Burning of the White House.

Absolutely. Aptly describes the events of the War of 1812 without any bias.

Except for the annoying pop up adds, a great set of photos of this interesting game.

It is always nice to note more people gaming the War of 1812.

Lots of cool photos.
May I ask, where did you get the White House building?
