It's a Question of Size...
« on: July 30, 2008, 12:08:47 AM »
First of all, gentlemen, let me say how much of a privelege it is to particpate in this fine group of gaming enthusiasts.

I have been avidily reading through the many pages of ideas, photos, helpful hints and more that evryone has been contributing.  I finally screwed up enough courage to begin posting myself.

I am very interested in purchasing figure for my planned pulp games from Brigade Games but I'm afraid that they will not mix with my Murch figures.

So, finally my question (er...actually two):

1.  Has anyone purchased from BG and how do the figures look next to Murch minis?

2.  Could we start a post of scale-comparison photos and keep it ongoing?

Thank you for your time.

I am an older gamer who hasn't played with miniatures since my father (deceased) and I played with his fellow faculty members in our basement.  We played Hinchcliffe 25mm Napoleonics, American Civil War and huge naval battles.  Our basement floor was painted for both land and sea games.  Great fun.  Of course, I always wanted to be different and play gangsters, Tarazan and Dino hunting (noe of which existed in miniature form back then).  So I was thrilled to find this group and the ever growing number of companies who are offering pulp....

I think that would match up perfectly.  I have a picture on my Blog of the Brigade games Merchant ship crew members.  I have to find my Murch figures and see if I can take a picture.  But I think they match up very well together.

KB - welcome home.  ;)

(But if your username is your birth date, for Goodness sake don't describe yourself as 'an older gamer'! I think 'a gamer in his prime' sums it up about right...  lol )

You were lucky to have such memories of the time you shared, I guess most of us just became interested through collecting plastic toys, and thinking what to do with them, or a love of history or SF/fantasy (or both).

I hope that your father is keeping an eye on the dice for you and pleased that the seeds he planted have flowered.

Most of the BG figures will work well with Pulp figures. There's just a few in the early WW2 horror range that will be too small (like the seated and standing pilots). The Ends of The Earth range is spot on though.

Thanks, Gentlemen.

I feel more confident to begin gathering yet even more unpainted lead for my collection....

Thank you also for the welcoming sentiments.  If my da is really watching those dice from above, he has that perverse humor of all the Irish....he's laughing his a$% off as I continue to roll under my needed scores!  Come'on da...give me a break!

I think they mix very well... they have a slightly different sculpting style but both Brigade Games and Pulp Figures make beautiful miniatures.  In my humble opinion you could not go wrong with either company! :-*

LOL, not too bad, thanks.

It was very stressful, so I changed it for a better one again, and will be concentrating on updating Mainly 28s more regularly again.

Forum? After some of the forums I've seen, I think I'll avoid that. There are enough good ones around for me not to need to start yet another one!
We have a very good one here, for example!
