Some Warzone oldies
« on: July 07, 2014, 11:22:35 AM »
Heya all, long time no see :)

Warzone Resurrection is pretty popular recently but somehow the whole new range ain't my cup of tea.
Instead I decided to slap some paint over some of my old WZ minis - they've been stored in boxes for a long time so they're more than happy to get out and take a breath of fresh display case air ;)

Hope to post some more of them in the thread.

Hm, it's really nice to see these back with fresh paintjobs. Cool!

Nice work!

I'm in the same boat as you; the new Warzone has inspired me to paint some of the old figures! I do like Warzone but the new figures somehow do not excite me at all.

They look great Piotr! Very nice job on slightly dodgy miniatures. =) The Mishima guy looks bad-ass!

Agreed!  Great paint but omg some of the warzone minis were atrocious!

You got my point.
The madness is progressing here, just today arrived whole set of original WZ#1 books still smelling of airplane, geekness and american way of life ;)
I am happy I got them, the collection of toys is just much more complete now.

Aaand we want to give Warzone gaming a chance again, but not new stuff or oldie rules but polish fan project Warzone 4.0: guys have done HUGE job preparing rules and army books after WZ#3 died and there was no view for it's rebirth.
There are still tournaments played using these... :)

Thanks guys!
As for me it's the uglier model is the more inner beautie I can discover in it.
Or something ;D
It's pure nostalgy I think, Warzone was the game which started whole wargaming madness in our small group and I think I have to paint some more to make it go away.
And as for atrocious things..
Well I was hoping to keep it for the bloggy but since we're here - click to see some nasty detail of Nepharite of Demnogonis from the top of the topic. Click if you dare but be warned: it's just dirty, dirty... >:D lol

Lovely stuff. I too prefer the old stuff to the new ones. The first packs by Copplestone and Kev Adams are still very nice. Prince August also has a few character figures that I previously didn't know existed. Some others are missing though. Mixed with Copplestone Castings they look okay too. The bigger ones are just big guys. Like the Fist of the North Star cartoon.
If you don't believe in lead, you're already dead.

Capital! (no, it's not a typo  ;) )

My regular gaming buddy bought into the KS of Resurrection, and although I don't like many of the new minis (and definitely not the prices, did anyone dare whisper 'GW'?), I am thinking of getting my collection dusted off and maybe paint up a few more minis to make a playable force.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!
