Under the sea...
« on: 31 July 2008, 12:49:02 PM »
Hi there,

may I introduce: the proud flagship of the underwater special forces (USF) fighting for anyone who can effort their service. As the captain always says: "Most of the time you don't see us. But if you see us, the last thing you'll see is the sea. Searious!"

Jawohl, Herr Kaleu!  :D

Best,
Tobi

There's nothing more humbling than spending the morning hacking away at foambord in a vain attempt to build a simple hut, then logging on here and seeing things like this... :'(

It is indeed very beautiful...can I have one?

I am cursed never to enter a supermarket without buying stuff for the shape of the packaging alone. To reconstruct one of these I've worked out I'd have to purchase a tub of lard, a tin of tasmanian mackeral and a pack of custard powder i found in the clearance bin. I am weighing up the costs of my hobby on my digestive system.

But seriously a lovely little model and I like the captain (Death Korps Krieg?) in the turret. This will be a stunner when painted up. Well done.

The commander is there just for scale reasons... don't know what he is, found him in an ebay mixed bitz box ;)

Lovely little submarine!

The Commander is an old (1999) piece which was supplied, for a time, with Games Workshop´s "Leman Russ" Battle Tank kit.

You should totally get a company to make castings of those for you, or sell them the master.

The captain is a Leman Russ Tank Commander from GW. Used to be included with the kit, not sure if it still is.

The sub is great! What is the body made from? Looks like one of those health drinks (Yakult or sinilar). Also, how was the fan made? It looks effective.
So many projects..... so little time.......

That's what I want to do... If someone's got contacts to such companys, I'd appreciate your help! Tobi

Could be, but it's a plastic tube with deospray caps on the end... the fan is actually made of many many single pieces of sheet.

Why don't you PM the guys from Pardulon? They're fellow LAFers.

Fan?

Unless that appendage at the stern of the sub really is a cooling mechanism I think you chaps mean screw or propeller...  :)

It's just the business, is that. Top job.

I run Ramshackle Games, and a victorian looking sub is just right I think! Not sure if its better if I pay you for the original or give you a cut of each that sell. PM me if you are interested!

On another note, how did you make the propeller fans at the back?
