Nail Polish Remover

I've had a couple of minis that needed stripping for a while so when walking down the toiletries aisle in Sainsburys, I picked up some extra strength nail polish remover for £1.50 and it is far and away the best stuff I've used. I soaked them for a couple of minutes and the thick paint was already coming off. Rubbed the mini over with a nail brush and they were basically back to white metal. The whole process took less than 5 minutes per figure. It even ate through super glue! Well worth having if you get a chance. I'll be stocking up this week! Hurts like a bastard if you get it in a cut though

IF you want to go pure, just get straight acetone. It comes in gallon sizes for about $5, and no perfumey smells. Just straight up, awesome chemical goodness.

Wear:
- eye protection
- rubber gloves
- respirator if needed.

I've been using nail polish remover in exactly the same way as you for years.
There's basically two types; with and without acetone. Oddly enough the one - alledgedly- without acetone works almost as well even on resin models.
Rinse the models with water afterwards because the product keeps active for a while.
My wife buys me 'paint remover' - almost every time she goes shopping for nail polish, eye shadow or lipstick and such.
My previous batch was a horrid pink, the one I got now a ghastly baby blue

I've used it before but been unimpressed with the results, it took ages of soaking and them loads of brushing. Eventually it worked but this time was so much easier. Just thought it was worth pointing out this specific, readily available brand

You can find pure acetone at paint stores - here in Canada, any hardware store has it in the paint section. Dirt cheap. 20 minutes and paint is gone!

Thick rubber gloves. It eats through latex and nitrile gloves in seconds.

Yep, straight acetone is my go-to "big gun" solvent. Hazardous as drinking in dark alleys, but it works wonders.

You can get about 5L for £15 including next-day delivery.

Be completely sure that you are buying 99.5% pure or better "new" acetone, and that you do not buy "recyled" or "reclaimed" acetone - if you buy the recycled stuff it can (and often does) contain really extremely nasty stuff in that remaining 0.5% that you absolutely do not want near you. However, in the "new" stuff, the 0.5% is usually water.
