Work on the German Vehicle Compendium is more or less finished, I am just waiting for the Mongoose Logo License to publish the book.

So comrade - onward to the next project: The Soviet Vehicle Compendium for World at War.
First model after the models for the WaW book: a mighty IS-2 with tank riders.

Iosef Stalin 2 heavy tank - the model is a Italieri 1/72 easy kit.
The base is made from miliput covered plasticard.
Very simple and fast to assemble but well enough detailed.
Only the tracks are VERY undetailed, therefore some heavy snow coverage was needed!
The Tank commanders and Desants are all from AB Minis.

More pics on my website.

Superb work, as always! Too bad you cannot see the rear machine gun, eh? ;)

The crew and desantniki are particularly charming. The blending on the leather jacket is top notch.

And more:

This week Italieri ISU-122s and Pegasus SU 152 kits. Very easy to assemble and reasonable good detailed. They really come alive with the AB crew miniatures!

And a Roden 1/72 Iosef Stalin 3 tank kit. A very detailed kit (actually too detailed for me, the turret “grips” were to fiddly for my skills!). As usual an AB Commander mini was added.

The infantry is from Italieri (left two) and the cameraman is another excellent THQ/CP (never understood the difference BTW) mini!

And close-up pics of the AB tank commanders.

As simple as it gets: Army Painter Army Green Primer!  8)
After that a mixture of brown ink, Tamiya weathering chalks/powder, drybrushing and some serious highlights on the edges...
