it is some kind of wargaming 'gathering' but that is about it.
Anyone care to tell me a bit more?

Bring Out Your Lead (BOYL) is an annual Oldhammer gathering at Wargames Foundry near Newark. It’s usually the first weekend in August. People turn up, play games, chew the fat , drink beer etc. There are loads of great games and no trade stands.

Bring Out Your Lead (BOYL) is an annual Oldhammer gathering at Wargames Foundry near Newark. It’s usually the first weekend in August. People turn up, play games, chew the fat , drink beer etc. There are loads of great games and no trade stands.

BLAM is pretty much the same but in a pub function room (hence the restricted numbers, invite-only. nature of it).
The room is really too small for the number attending already and can make life difficult at times.

You've very possibly already seen Majorsmith's lovely version of Captain Quirke, the Bring Out Your Lead 2021 commemorative figure. Mine isn't up to those standards, but nonetheless I'm very pleased to have such a lovely Bob Naismith sculpt to lead my space pirate crew!
