I fancied doing something utterly unrelated to anything else, so painted up a pair of figures that I put together because a) they have a lot of similarities and b) they got me in the mind of being a pair of private investigators.

The human is a Rogue Trader adventurer and his diminutive companion is from Skull & Crown miniatures.

More words and pics over at my blog.

I was pretty impressed at how well that range of Kickstarter minis fit the old aesthetic. In fact, I felt like that ratling and official seemed like they were made at the same time myself.

Good job on them :)

Thanks Dr Mathias. I only picked up a handful of the Space Scrappers figures, but I'm happy with what I got! My favourite is the astropath/wizard - looking forward to getting him done.

Missed your questtion there, in the quotation box, but luckiliy caught in on the second try ;)

No, it's not a scratchbuild, but in fact a hard foam building by Ziterdes, based on an original 2nd ed 40K design by GW, which they release in limited numbers. I had this for years, and have had the plan to make it into a full fledged outpost, including a vehicle gate etc for almost as long :D
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Some more new terrain in the shape of some Walls and access points, again built by Grimsforge and painted by me.

Spray paint perp is a blast from the past... I think I have him stashed in with my unpainted Dredd stuff.

Super cool setup :)

Thanks folks! Spray paint perp is a very useful figure to have furtively tagging a wall or hidden corner  :)

One side of each painted with urban graffiti and posters:

The other more neutral for interior or spaceport walls or similar:

It's not that exciting really! In the early 2000s through to about 2015 there was a Citadel Collectors Yahoo group. It was the place where ex-GW staff and collectors of unreleased Citadel figures met to trade. In the early days it was where many unreleased figures were first revealed to the public, and the Collecting Citadel Miniatures Wiki was built on the back of it. Unfortunately nowadays the market has been distorted by recasts on ebay :(

Thanks,  nice painting and build on those walls, a really useful bit of scenery.

How about these? I took them a month or so ago before I'd painted the walls:
