Painted these up for the hell of it, thought the Oldhammer crowd would get a kick out of them:

Awesome.  Those models are great.  I miss Oldhammer.   :(

For once I have the pleasant feeling I am not old enough!
What are these? Not familiar with them (sigh - probably only because my wargaming career began in my late 20s)

I think they are the weapon turret/batteries from Space Crusade board game.

Nice painting!

They are Tarantula weapons platforms from the space crusade board game, that also have featured in WH40K.

Thanks - I am familiar with the Tarantula (from Epic!), but didn't recognise these from Space Crudsade, which I just missed.

Thanks SO much for sharing!

Have a couple of incomplete sets in the basement; pretty sure full compliment of Mr T's, though.

Was down-hearted I'd let a mate steal some weapons from the chaos dreadnoughts I had in the expansion (Mission Chaos? Something like that...)

Nice to know the tarantulas can paint up that pretty. Did you know Space Crusade was never made in the States? Fair amount of teeth-gnashing, back in the day.

Ahhhh yes great models they are and very nice paint work on them , and IIRC a  bright coloured plastic Space Marine was holding a firing mechanism  that slotted into the back . I have a small bucketload of these that  currently service  my Rogue Trader Imperial Guard of the time . They look great painted up .
One of the more useful pieces from that set  alongside the Dreadnaught , both still being used for my Sci Fi games .

cheers Tom

I might have some kicking about, I'll take a look and let you know.
