What happened to Renegade Miniatures?
« on: July 31, 2014, 08:43:16 PM »
Just as the title asks really

What did happen, have they been sold? Does somebody supply these figures?

Cheers

The forum search turns up this. I think their website also states quite clear whats going on.
"I'd like to send this letter to the Prussian consulate in Siam by aeromail. Am I too late for the 4:30 autogyro?"
"Uh, I better look in the manual... This book must be out of date. I don't see "Prussia", "Siam" or "autogyro"...

They're supposedly going to be selling the line. Not sure to whom.

Bummer the website is locked though. I like looking at their ranges...

Northstar would be the obvious choice surely?

Both really as I think Northstar cast and market Artizan these days but also have many of the ranges. I think Mike Owen also sculpted a good few of the Renegade stuff

Nick Collier did the ECW stuff (I think!) and that's probably their nicest stuff.

The Great War stuff is pretty great by en large.

It's the later ranges and later additions of old ones that just weren't up to scratch IMHO.

To be honest I'm not sure who would buy the company unless they wanted to resurrect the ECW, WWI and such like lines??

Which lines did Mike Owen sculpt?  :)

Darrell.

I was sure he did the ww1 now though not so sure on reflection  ;D

The ECW were nice but Scots were mods of the dollies iirc

well, the french WW1 are a pretty cose match, so there is a probability...
but MO could tell us himself?

on a second thought, the renegade french are a very close match to the Artizan and Gorgon WW2 french, however, the Artizan MOD range is quite mixed - there are the older ones that match the Dixon Dahomey range (as well as some of the "thrilling tales" miniatures), but the newer foreign legion are very different, they like someone has copied the details and sculpting style, but used dollies with very different dynamics. Bit puzzling ....  o_o
