(Army Painter 2014) 15mm Japanese (pre)WW2
« on: August 04, 2014, 03:20:17 PM »
I think it is time to throw my hat into the ring on this one. I have a number of half finished projects that could benefit from some order to bring them to a head. I am going to start off with 15mm Japanese and see where that takes me. I am a rather slow painter and tend to leave stuff half finished so this might be the chance to give it a good go.

Rather than set a target each month I will see how much I can do under the pressure of trying to at least update the thread. I will post a group photo of what is to be done at the beginning and monthly updates with an completed army shot at the end.

Other projects to be considered include 28mm Fallschirmjaeger, 28mm Saga Vikings, Hordes Gatormen and Check your six 3mm Jets. The Jets are the only things not started. I also have a lot of 15mm ww2 Soviets that are a never ending project.

Photos to follow!

Nice!

I was always fascinated with the Japanese army even though it is yet another gruesome chapter of history.

Well apologies Japanese WW2 fans. Things are moving at my usual glacial pace. I hope the gun teams and basing of assorted infantry will be completed in the next week allowing me to display some progress for your viewing pleasure.

That leaves some tanks to be finished and then the aircraft. Oh and then the Cavalry and limbers/trucks.

Japanese Army Airforce in China 1939 is a difficult one to decide on. The Nomonhan schemes are often portrayed at white with red details but at the same time and later there is a more camo colour scheme which would be more versatile for gaming and interesting for painting (but Slower!). The Ki-32 Mary dive bombers are the priority here but the Sallys are also to be considered. I think I will go camo for the bombers and white for Nates when they are acquired.
