Those Venetians are particularly cool. The consistent yet slightly varied design of their shields looks quite convincing – I love freehands, and that's a very good job. 8)

Greetings everybody! I'm awfully late with this post, sorry for that. I had the pics snapped for a while, but I always forgot to upload them. I finished all the troops in the Duke of York's livery, and also the Duke himself, so I took some pictures of all of them, bannermen included. As of now, I have as a WIP a group of mercenary handgunners and a bunch of knights to distribute amongst my three retinueas, as well as some of the mercs. Also waiting for a box of foot knights to arrive so I can split it with a friend and add some more guys to my army. I'm also putting magnets on all bases so I can transport the whole army without danger and maybe add some more pics for you all to see.

And now...

The Duke of York arrives.

His loyal longbowmen

And the fierce billmen with their captain (and a sneaky scurrer)

And a pretty group shot (not that pretty, it's a bit dark)

Now to carry on with the rest of my little guys. If things go nicely, I'll snap some pics of the whole army once I get the foot knights. I'm starting to regret deciding to split the box seeing how amazing they are, but they would be a lot of them, son half a box is nice, I think.

Thanks for all the nice comments, by the way. I'm happy that you like them so much  :)

I presume Shaun means the ones on your 'yellow and green' units. Great work by the way, I'm in awe.  :)

@Shaun - If you have ten thumbs like me, Citadel Six do banners and badge decals for figures, they're listed under Products - Historical and look quite the part. Hopefully someone reading this will have used them and can comment on how good (or not) they are to use.

Oh, the checkered part, you mean? It may seem hard, but I think it was more tedious than tricky. First, I did vertical lines with green all along the white part of the livery. Next, I painted the horizontal lines. And once that was done, I began filling the green squares. As highlighting all that would have been a pain in the bum, what I did was apply a glaze of Scale75 's african fleshtone through the shaded areas. It's a somewhat dark purplish color, and it goes quite nicely to shade a lot of things.

I have a couple more knights finished, by the way. I'll snap some quick pictures of them this afternoon at the club.

Feel free to ask anything that comes to mind, I'm glad to share all I can about my work.

Here's the knights I promised. I took the pictures at home with a led light and some things may be... over illuminated. But they look almost as IRL, so that's not bad.

First we have the second scurrer I made mixing a mercenary head with the men at arms box. I added the spear to a side of the saddle, as if it was held there with a strap, and a buckler to show that this guy is not afraid to fight on foot.

Next is this one from the Duke's retinue. I kinda like how the horse looks, even though I was not at all happy with the base color. The lighting and shading really did their part

And the final one, this fine man with my attempt at blued armor. The green ended looking quite different from the green his comrades wear, but I think I'll leave it be. It's green anyway, and looks nice.

Quite a crappy picture, though. Looked better on my phone.

Anyway, here they are. I'll post the next batch once it's finished, if I muster enough time to paint them between comissions.

Hi everybody! Sorry I've been a bit absent on the forum recently. I've spent some days away from home, and couldn't post nor paint.

Short update on my collection/project, as I finally didn't get the foot knights, and the project has been in a slight hiatus while I got my hands on some 15mm WW2 germans and a lot of commissions that kept me away from my own minis. (I'll post the germans on the relevant WW2 area of the forum, if you're interested)

So, here we have a couple of new pictures of one of the scurrers I posted a while back, reshot with a portable photo studio, complete with good lighting and all that jazz, and oh boy, does it show.

A closeup of his pretty face (I'm really proud of it, I won't lie, one of the best faces I ever did)

Aaaaaand... My new commander, for the yello and black retinue. I have to give them nice names, but as a Spaniard, I'm not able to come up with nice noble english names. I thought of Sir Allistair Crowley of Westwood for this guy, but I don't know how... accurate it would be. Sure sounds cool to me though.

Blasted helmet shadow... The eyes looked good, no need to obscure them :(

That's it for now, but now that I have some time, I think I will at least finish the handgunners and maybe some of the remaining mounted knights. Then, I hope to get me some foot knights too, I got some pretty nice ideas while on holiday in Italy and I'm getting pretty desperate to get my hands on them. Fingers crossed for Christmas XD

Also, I don't know why, but some of the previous pictures broke. I'll try to fix them.

You should be proud of the paintwork on that face.  Very well done.
