Tower house/Castle keep
« on: 07 August 2014, 03:52:02 PM »
Hi all, new to the boards, but I have been working on a few whimsical ideas...
I think this tower could be used on many a different game table...I scaled it to 28mm.
It is scratch built from mostly card boards, foams, card stock and cork,
It is lighted from within by a flicker bulb t-light...

It is a first time go at this type of build.
Let me know what y'all think...
cheers

Love it and welcome.

It even comes with its own drawbridge!

Nice work. You really put your own touch on the classic Warhammer card tower.  Well done.

It's a great piece of work. I like a lot of the detail work there.

However, you might want to add a few shadows or a wash to the detail areas to bring out the stonework, and possibly use a couple other shades to alter the tone of the stones for a more natural look. At the moment, it's almost to uniform color wise with the stone.

Though, it's also possible that is an artifact of the camera you're using.

It's still something that looks good.

Ya SotF...I will probably add a little more to the stonework, but it is quite mottled...
just not well picked up by my little digi-cam.
Thanx again...
more to come with tower #2 soon!!

Nice build  :)

May I make a suggestion? If you gave the finished tower exterior a liberal coat of ready-mixed filler / spackle, perhaps mixed with PVA for extra adhesion and flexibility, all over the whole thing, it would blend in the joints and sharp edges of the cut-out bricks and the different textures, and give a unified feel to the entire building.
Just a thought. Think it would make quite a difference :)
