PA Inspiration: The Greek 2004 Olympic
« on: August 08, 2014, 08:58:21 AM »
I stumbled upon a series of photos of the 2004 Olympic buildings from Greece.

I think it would serve nicely as inspiration for P.A. stuff.

Amazing what only 10 years will do to a place!

Well to be fair Greece has fallen on some rather hard times since..

But I am sure there are ghost "cities" like that for every olympic venue. And indeed for every major world sporting event. There will be some derelict football stadiums in Brazil in a few years time I would bet.

What a waste......

Most of these event facilities are - Some evolve (the 1904 World's Fair Site in Saint Louis now has Forest Park and the related (Zoo, Art Museum, History Museum, Science Museum, etc., built in part on the same and surrounding land IIRC.

Unless you turn them into something (like ongoing sport facilities or like Saint Louis did) useful You get this sad state of affairs.

Gracias,

Glenn
