BOYL 2014 - Oldhammer weekend pics
« on: August 11, 2014, 10:19:39 AM »
Over the weekend 50 or so gamers from the old hammer forum spent the weekend at the New Foundry HQ in Newark. If you head over to the forum ( http://forum.oldhammer.org.uk/ ) you'll be able to find loads of pics of the dozens of games that were being played but I was involved with four games over the two days mostly on the Ferrograd board that I've shown off here before. Here are some pics to whet your appetite.

I've managed to write up a couple of battle reports on my blog so far but I've still got our Gorka-Morka / RT game to do and also our bash at the White Dwarf published game, Confrontation,, which went really well.

Great stuff. Any chance on a rule/guideline/scenario for the Quickening game?
It's nothing, sir. Just a burn from a ray gun.

The Quickening game was based around the Sensei fluff from Lost and the Damned. Basically each player had a Sensei and two sidekicks, the idea was to be the last one standing. We were using necromunda rules for the most part but to get around the issue of having seven players we used a set of shuffled cards to denote turns.

In addition to this there were two areas of holy ground where the Sensei could spend a  turn not being shot at and also pick up another power card (see above) that might be mighty leap, +1 strength etc. The sidekicks are just baseline models with bolt pistols to keep it simple. The sensei could lose their wounds normally but their final wound could only be taken by another sensei in close combat. When you kill another sensei you get a background explosion and are raised into the air for a round, you get one of your opponents cards and you get all your wounds back. It was quick, bloody and great fun!
