This Time it's War AAR - Blurred photo heavy :/
« on: August 12, 2014, 02:03:21 PM »
I laid out a small space colony for a game. I was too busy laying it all out to notice just what a short route I'd provided. Cpt. Stinky did notice though, namely get straight to the ladder on level one bottom right, go down and down again and you're on level three. Pesky kids!  >:(

First we were having a run through, literally with Stinky and his shortcut, and then a bigger game. I removed that level one ladder for the game proper.

Level 3 and the dropship which will provide escape.

Level 2 a utility level.

Level 1 command.

Stinky is off and away for a run through of the FUBAR rules...

...and leads the way in escaping by making sure he's first aboard.  :o

For the actual game my domestic goddess is playing with Stinky, she's the one in the purple. They make their way to the command room to see what's what while Stinky secures the area with an eye on the ladder to level 2.

I can't help but think he wanted to be first on the dropship, again.

The first pair of aliens emerge and are made short work of.

While Stinky ploughs ahead.

It's not long until he's found a crate with a pair of smart guns in, and he starts to deploy them as his Red Devil squad catches up to offer support.

Meanwhile the rear squad shows a fine deployment and keeps the rear safe.

The technician makes it to one of the two master computers to disarm the active missile defence system, and luckily it's the right one.

The combined squads push on, although do not use the facilities for the correct disposal of alien waste.

Stinky's engineer had pushed ahead to the armoury and done his part in turning on the encrated cyborg, the technician just needs to press a few buttons but gets this far and then doesn't activate for her move for two turns...

Sadly my wonderful wife's decision to stay alongside her loyal cyber dog means they're in danger of being over run.

With a couple of aliens even breaking through to attack her support.

Stinky pushes on with another crate with smart guns

The tech finally turns on the cyborgs while Mrs Me does a runner away from the haord and her squad makes mincemeat of them.

Stinky finds a surprise waiting for them in the hangar...

The cyborg finshes off any close aliens while akky holds the ladder.

the rest of the squad tries to catch up with Stinky

The Red Devils line up to take on the Alien Queen who doesn't oblige them by tucking around a corner...

Only to spring back and rip one of them to pieces.

The engineer and the technician finally finish faffing about activating a loader droid to block the corridor behind them.

Stinky bravely leads the way and is first on the ship with a short run.

"Marines we are leaving!" are the last human utterances to be heard in this infected station.

The rule worked okay but there wasn't enough carnage but I didn't apply them as intended but we all enjoyed it, and it was quick.

As it's the holidays we set one up for another game on Wednesday.

Those Copplestone are actually the other half of that set from Em4, and a little cheaper.

All the mini's should be mentioned here: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=53372.0

If any are missing let me know.

The troopers which used to be a whole and now copplestone have half of them and Em4 have the other half.

Your scenery setup reminds me old Amiga game "alien breed". Especially the starship dock, it's very similar to level1 of the game !

What did you use for the floorplans tiles ?

I also like your minis painting !

Something like that I think I also heard there was a range and Doug bought one half and Copplestone the other half... we could always ask Doug - although if it was a bit aggy I'd rather not remind him of it.

What an excellent game that was.

I was offered a box of OOP resin goodies including these floortiles at salute 2013 by a chum, I then realised I could use more asked him what the range was so I might hunt them on ebay and chum went one better and put me in touch with the man behind the range who not only had a couple of boxes of them left in his garage he only lived down the coast.

I have made a few extra pieces up, they're all in my project thread a couple of posts up.  8)

don't understand - You mean Copplestone bought half the range back or he did not make them in the first place?
because the helmets are a bit different and also the way the berets sit, so it coul well be that the Em4 ones are older - they have also slotta bases while the one C sells has integral

or do You mean that the range Em4 has was also partly sold to Mirliton? because this is actually the case
